Meet the Evaldas Lipinskas
Evaldas Lipinskas is an elite handball player from Lithuania who moved to Sweden with his family ten years ago. Today he works in production at Tegsnäs Emballage in Vindeln.
Tell us about your work!
– I have a wide range of tasks. For example, I plan work, manage stock levels, cut wood materials, manufacture special packaging. I also drive a forklift and tractor.
How do you like your job?
– Very good. I am a person who likes action, physical work and enjoys doing many different things. I was interested in working here for a long time, I was recommended by an acquaintance who worked at the factory in Tegsnäset and in 2020 I was hired.
You were an elite handball player in Lithuania. What does teamwork mean to you?
– For me, teamwork is important. I like having people around me and doing things together. When I played handball, I was the team captain. It's not just me who has to succeed, it's us as a group who create the best results together. This is something I have learnt from sport.
What is important to you in your job?
– That I enjoy my job, but also that I can develop, challenge myself, try new things and make things better. Therefore, I like the fact that we manufacture many products, probably around 100, but also that new products are added. For some time I've been working on noise barriers for the Swedish Transport Administration, Trafikverket, and it's a new, fun project where I've been involved from the start.
- I want to get a lot done every day at work and like to plan what I'm going to do the next day on my way home.
What are the main strengths of Tegsnäs Group?
– It's that we make good products, are fast, focus on quality and want to constantly improve. We also want to develop the products we make for our customers so that they fit their needs even better or that the products can be manufactured even smarter. Another strength is that the owners are involved, work closely with the business and are familiar. This creates a high level of commitment from everyone.
What do you do in your spare time?
– I have a lot to do even in my free time. I enjoy working in the forest and often help with forest clearing. At weekends and in the summer, I help Granö Beckasin as a caretaker. Since I have a sports background, I also like to exercise. I also spend a lot of time with my family.
